IRTH Solutions delivered the Third Annual 2008 User Group Conference at the MGM in Las Vegas October 21-23. Attendees received 2 days of training in the use of IRTHNet with a choice of either basic or advanced sessions capped off with an interactive trivia game. The highly popular breakout sessions allowed users to share industry issues and the unique ways that IRTHNet is used to address day to day damage prevention efforts.
The conference kicked off with a keynote speech by Bob Kipp, President of the Common Ground Alliance. Mr. Kipp covered the wide range of CGA damage prevention initiatives and brought the audience up to speed on the latest committee activities. Rick Pevarski, Executive Director, Virginia Utility Protection Services, followed with a presentation on the CGA VA Pilot Project.
A One Call panel of Executive Directors and Operation Managers followed and addressed the different ways states are coping with the economy, corporate graffiti and legislative issues. After a wrap up of the breakout sessions, Steve Jones from Southwest Gas provided a presentation on the use of IRTHNet in his company. A final networking session allowed the participants to mingle in a relaxed setting to close the conference.
By all accounts the training and Conference were highly informative and beneficial to the users. IRTH Solutions thanks our users for making the show a success. Preparations are already underway for the 2009 Conference so stay tuned for more details.
